to radio relay sites of US soldiers from Vienna to Bremerhaven.American folding money was paid to the Airmen, since they lived
on the German economy and the Germans accepted American currency. the commander in Ulm was Col. Green.
In 1953, he aided the Dutch in the big flood:
February - Floods in Netherlands. ARS aircrews fly 198 sorties in SA-16s, H-19s, C-47s, and C-82s, evacuating 161 persons and delivering 32,900 lbs. of relief supplies
